Background

Over 8 years a series of projects has been built on the former HMAS Lonsdale and Gasworks sites in Port Melbourne. Together they form a precinct around Lagoon Reserve totalling 900 apartments and town houses.

'The Port', built by Becton during 1999, contains a combination of town houses and apartments clustered around 7 picturesque courtyards as well as a medium-rise apartment block.

'The Port' complex encompasses 153 individual homes surrounding a central landscaped area that includes:
